A few examples of how the right format, or a blend of formats, serves the story

A 3D medical device animation that makes laser technology and treatment benefits clear to physicians.

A 2D explainer that turns genomics concepts into a clear visual comparison for scientists.

A 3D animated safety introduction where two character mascots turn core safety principles into lessons factory teams remember.

A hybrid 2D and 3D explainer that combines aerial imagery with animated cross-sections to trace where a city's water comes from.

A warm 2D animation that turns the hiring journey into an illustrated trail, so candidates know what to expect at every stage.

3D medical animation of the brain paired with live-action family footage to explain a complex condition and the case for research.

A hybrid video that pairs a 3D mascot with clean 2D interface diagrams to guide members through a digital banking upgrade.

A hand-drawn whiteboard animation that turns a year of impact data into a story donors and partners can feel.

Most animation studios built their name on one format. A 2D house treats 3D as an add-on. A 3D house only knows how to turn a product around on a pedestal. Either way, your project gets steered toward whatever the studio already does best, not what your audience needs to see.
TADApix has been telling brand stories for over 15 years, in 2D and 3D animation as well as claymation and stop-motion. That range is the point. When one studio is fluent in both formats, the format is chosen by the story, and you can move between flat, stylized storytelling and dimensional, spatially accurate visuals inside the same project. We are a Los Angeles based studio and we work with marketing, training, and communications teams across the United States.
Already sure you only need one format? Visit our dedicated 2D animation page or our dedicated 3D animation services page. This page is for projects that call for both, or that have not decided yet.
The honest answer is that neither format is better. Each one solves a different communication problem. Here is how we think about the choice with every client.
Many of the strongest projects live in the middle. A medical device film might open with a 2D character story about the clinical problem, then move into a 3D view of the mechanism. A safety training series might use 2D characters to teach behaviors and 3D environments to walk through equipment and hazards. A software and hardware launch might pair a 2D interface explainer with a 3D look at the device. Because one creative team directs both formats, the look, the pacing, and the voice stay consistent from the first frame to the last.
We did not arrive at animation through AI. We are animators and directors who learned the craft first, and we now use the best AI tools to widen what we can create for a brand. Creative direction comes from an experienced director leading a team of full-time artists. AI is a tool in their hands, never a substitute for story or design judgment.
We learn your audience, your goal, and the one idea the video has to land. The script is written to be seen, not just heard.
We recommend 2D, 3D, or a blend based on what the audience needs to understand, and we show you why.
Style frames, character and environment design, and boards give you a clear picture of the finished piece before animation begins.
Our artists animate in 2D and 3D. Where AI lets us explore richer looks, environments, or sequences, a director shapes and approves every result.
Voiceover, music, sound design, color, and quality control bring the piece to broadcast polish.
Final files in the formats and aspect ratios you need, with source files archived for future updates.
Every video is custom built for the brand behind it. We most often partner with teams in these areas:
Start with what your viewer needs to understand. If the idea is a process, a concept, or a story with characters, 2D is often the clearest path. If the viewer needs to see a physical product, mechanism, or space accurately, 3D is usually the better fit. If both are true, we combine them. We make a recommendation in the first conversation and explain the reasoning.
Yes. Blending formats works well when a story moves between the human side of a problem and the technical side of the solution. Our directors design the two so they feel like one piece rather than two styles stitched together.
Yes. We are based in Los Angeles and run projects remotely with teams throughout the United States, with review rounds, approvals, and delivery handled online.
Craft comes first. Our team has produced 2D, 3D, claymation, and stop-motion for brands for over 15 years. We use AI tools where they expand what we can create, always directed by an experienced artist. Every video is custom built for the brand, not generated and handed over.
Share your goal, your audience, and any source material such as scripts, product files, or reference videos. From there we can recommend a format and outline the project.
