About This Electric Cooperative Member Education Video

The Challenge: Rural co-op members hear plenty of EV hype and plenty of EV skepticism, and neither helps them decide. WFEC and its partners (Tri-State, CoBank, Oglethorpe Power, Francis Energy) wanted a neutral, practical guide members could trust, from the utility they already trust.

The Solution: A friendly, judgment-free walkthrough that blends 2D animation with real-world footage: what today’s battery ranges actually cover, what Level 1 and Level 2 charging mean at home, what renters and fleet operators can do, and where incentives fit into the decision.

The Result: One of a six-video EV series we produced for WFEC, this piece gives members the framework to make their own call, which is exactly the tone that keeps a cooperative credible with its community.

Key Features That Make This Co-op Education Video Work

  • A decision guide, not a sales pitch: the framing respects members who conclude an EV isn’t for them yet.
  • Rural-first practicality: range and charging answers built around co-op territory realities, not city assumptions.
  • Multi-partner co-branding: one video serves WFEC alongside Tri-State, CoBank, Oglethorpe, and Francis Energy.
  • Complete in four minutes: range, charging, home setup, renters, incentives, every major question a first-time EV considerer has.

Why Animation Works for Utility Member Education

Utilities occupy a rare position: members actually trust them. That trust makes a co-op the right messenger for a decision as practical as an EV purchase, if the content stays genuinely educational.

Animation keeps it that way. Our explainer approach visualizes ranges, charging levels, and home setups without a single showroom shot, so the guide never reads as a car ad.

And a series format, like WFEC’s six EV videos, lets each piece answer one question well instead of cramming everything into a single overwhelming explainer.
