A Creative Director’s POV at TADApix
Written by Rebeca Pacheco
I still remember the moment I first thought, “I want to do that — I want to make cartoons.” I had just finished watching an animated film (the one where the horse is the main character, you know the one?). A true gem of animation, if you ask me… I might be a little biased though. So what was so special about that movie? Well, it made me create an emotional connection with a horse — and it doesn’t even talk! That’s when I realized the power of animation. And honestly, I could say that movie is the reason why I’m now a Creative Director at TADApix.
Let’s get technical for a second. If you Google “What is animation?”, you’ll probably get a boring definition like this one: “Animation is the process of giving motion to drawings or inanimate objects.” (YAWN…) At TADApix, we don’t just make animation. We do so much more than that. We don’t just make things move — we bring them to life!
And that’s what we’re passionate about here: turning your ideas into stories. Now, you might be thinking, “Don’t you make educational or informational videos?” Yes, we do! But they’re so much more than that. They’re stories filled with humor and personality, crafted to deliver your message in a fun and engaging way.
So… What Makes Our Work So Special? Spoiler: A Lot
Well, I could list a bunch of features that make our work unique—but if you’re curious and want a deeper look, let me walk you through our process with one of my favorite projects: History of Selling Beer for Anheuser-Busch.
What’s on your mind?
Every great project starts with a conversation. In this case, the client wanted a fun and engaging way to show the evolution of their sales team’s tools and strategies throughout history. And when you’re a company with this much history? The storytelling possibilities are endless. Once we had the script locked in, it was time to fuel up the creative engines.
Let’s get creative, shall we?
The next step is creating the storyboard and animatic—a rough animated sketch of the video. This is where the fun (and the challenge) truly begins. It’s not just about what things look like, but how they move, how they feel, how they connect. We start mapping out characters, actions, timing, camera movement, emotion, and more.
In History of Selling Beer, that meant accurately representing each time period—horse-drawn carriages, vintage cars, clunky early computers, sleek mobile apps—and making sure our character resonated with viewers every step of the way.
This phase is the foundation for everything that follows. As Creative Director, it’s my job to make sure that foundation is solid.
Art Time (AKA: my favorite part)
Once the client approves the storyboard, it’s time to get our hands dirty.
We begin with a sample artwork—our visual proposal for the video. Think of it as a single, polished frame that shows how the final piece will look. Once approved, we go full speed ahead creating the rest of the characters and environments.
In this project, the different time periods allowed us to explore a wide range of styles. We designed four different looks for our main character, plus environments from cobblestone streets and old-school offices (think MAD MEN) to modern settings.
Versatility? Always.
IT’S ALIVE! (Insert dramatic lightning sound)
Now comes the magic—animation!
This is where our talented team shines, bringing every scene to life. From the characters to the tiniest background detail, everything starts to move, breathe, and tell the story. This is the final product, and we don’t take it lightly. We fine-tune, review, and adjust until everything is just right. After all, we’re making this for you.
Cherries on top (yes, plural)
What brings it all together? Sound effects and music.
Trust me—this is what takes everything to the next level. (There’s a reason they’re Oscar categories, right?) We add just the right audio touches to fully immerse viewers in the story and set the perfect mood for every moment.
THE GRAND FINALE
The result of the History of Selling Beer was better than I imagined, and what’s better.. our client loved it. And that’s what makes our work special. There’s nothing quite like seeing the final result after so much passion, effort, and teamwork. At TADApix, every project is more than just a video—it’s a full-on creative adventure, and we genuinely enjoy every step of the journey. I’ve had the joy of creating with this team for four years now, and I know it all comes down to one thing: my love for animation.
