Grupo Bimbo already had a successful 2D animated version of their Safety Pledge training. But when AI-generated 3D animation became available, they saw an opportunity to create an updated version with even more visual impact. This animated safety video features the same beloved characters—Baker, Dempster, and Joe Louie—but rendered in photorealistic 3D that makes them feel more real and engaging.

The Challenge:
The original 2D animated Safety Pledge video worked well, but Grupo Bimbo wanted to explore what was possible with newer AI-generated 3D animation technology. Could the same safety message have even more impact if the characters looked more realistic and dimensional? Would the wow factor of AI-enhanced visuals increase engagement and retention among their workforce?

Our Solution:
We recreated Baker, Dempster, and Joe Louie using AI-generated 3D animation workflows that weren’t available when the original video was produced. The characters maintain their personalities and the same storyline—Joe Louie showing up injured, leading to a discussion of Grupo Bimbo’s 21-point Safety Pledge—but now rendered with photorealistic textures, lighting, and environments. The AI technology enabled visual quality and character detail that would be prohibitively expensive and time-consuming with traditional 3D animation tools.

The Results:
Grupo Bimbo deployed both versions across their facilities, giving them options for different training contexts. The AI 3D version proved especially effective for new facility orientations and larger-screen presentations where the enhanced visual quality made a strong first impression.
